Nestled discreetly at 5600 Roswell Rd in Sandy Springs, Chapter Room invites guests into an intimate, speakeasy-style bar experience that balances exclusivity with comfort. This hidden gem is not just about drinks—it’s a carefully curated retreat blending a masculine, throwback ambiance with exceptional food and craft cocktails that keep patrons coming back for more.
The charm of Chapter Room lies in its understated allure; finding the entrance can even be part of the appeal, offering a sense of discovery that echoes the classic speakeasy vibe. While some guests have noted the initial challenge in locating the venue and a reserved atmosphere on entry, once inside, the mood shifts. Guests often feel embraced by the attentive yet unobtrusive service, with bartenders like Tyler and Rachel gaining praise for their quick, friendly service and expertly crafted cocktails.
Food at Chapter Room elevates the bar experience with thoughtfully prepared plates that pair seamlessly with their beverage offerings. Signature items like the Gold N' Crisp Fried Chicken nestled in a buttery brioche bun, and the rich Chapter Burger layered with Gruyere and gorgonzola cheese, create a satisfying, soulful palette. The Ribeye Nachos and Steak and Frites—a grilled ribeye served with chipotle butter and hand-cut fries—stand out as mainstays, delighting diners who crave both bold flavors and comfort. For lighter fare, the Caesar Salad with Salmon and the vibrant Agave Nectar Ahi Salad provide bright, fresh contrasts that refresh the palate.
The cocktail menu, while concise, is impactful. The Old Fashioned draws favorable comparisons, embodying classic craftsmanship, though some drinks like the Manhattan have received mixed reviews. Innovative choices such as the Pisco Sour and the Peach Mojito add a playful, summery twist that complements the bar’s varied beer flight selection.
In essence, Chapter Room is a destination for those who appreciate a well-rounded bar experience enhanced by quality food and mindful service in a sophisticated, somewhat enigmatic setting. Whether you're indulging in bacon-wrapped jalapeno cheese poppers or savoring a smoky stout pie, you’re enveloped in a low-key environment perfect for intimate conversations or unwinding after a long day.
Though it may lean towards a more mature crowd and demand a bit of perseverance to find, Chapter Room rewards visitors with authenticity, warmth once settled, and a genuinely enjoyable, unpretentious vibe. If you’re a fan of classic cocktails and hearty small plates served with a side of charm—and don’t mind the hunt—this Sandy Springs bar is a must-visit.
I have a mixed feeling about this place, we had to look for the restaurant for about 10 minutes until we finally found it and once we got in there no one hosted us, and we didn't feel welcome, the environment was like a private party and we felt like uninvited guests :)) However once we got settled, we received a very friendly service which was also quite fast. They have a large collection of drinks and a small collection of food! Given all this I was thinking to give it a four-star review until I took a bite from my burger sandwich, hmmmm, it was tender, juicy, fresh, and delicious. It was then that I decided to give it a five star. In my opinion it was the best burger in Atlanta. I would definitely give it another try. BTW, the entrance is to the right of Taco Mac's entrance (Google map's direction is a bit confusing and there is no sign!).
Tyler the cute bartendress serving me at The Chapter Room, was sensational! Never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a beer, even with a packed bar for a Taco Mac kickoff event!
Good luck finding this speakeasy but that’s half the fun right?! Intimate, dark space with a masculine throwback feel. I get the feeling this place caters to the 50+ crowd. Good Old Fashioned but I’d skip the Manhattan as it was oddly pre-made out of a bottle.
This place was great. We had a good time eating and talking with very little pressure or disturbance from the staff. There isn't a big list of drinks but the beers were good, and the food was very good all the way around. I'd definitely go back.
Rachel was a delight to spend time talking with. She also makes amazing cocktails!
Love this speakeasy style bar. Thoughtful drink menu. Limited bar menu. Comfortable seating for chatting. There is a sign showing the entrance. It would be more fun if there was no sign. Bartenders were super attentive. They love what they were doing. Definitely worth the stop!
